Hi!

Welcome to my website!

Constant over exploitation to media, movies and music inspired my AP  concentration. My pieces are detectable symbols and images from media works, be it from the climax of a written story, chorus of a song or, critical cinematic turning point of a film. The twelve distinct pieces I created embody the influence of media on teanagers now more than ever before. Striking moments from media helped me develop 3D imagery most notably for my concentration. The locket is inspired by one in the movie What They Had which was both written and directed by my cousin. The photo inside the locket features a picture of my grandparents whom the movie was made about. The pig's head on a stake was based off the novel Lord of the Flies, this book was the first book I read that totally impacted me. This novel created a deep passion in me for classic literature and influences my choices in books even today. The Living Human Girl statue, named after the song it symbolizes, was created through collected snippets of lyrics that described the lead singer and her personality. This song came to me at a very awkward time, when I was just starting high school, and allowed me to feel more comfortable with being a girl. Hearing lyrics about acne, periods, and weight gain as a freshman and dealing with all this stuff, made me feel more at home in my own skin. Though there is a wide variety throughout my portfolio, it is unified by the strong influences these media works had on my personal expression as an artist.
